The NDA government led by Narendra Modi won no-confidence motion by voice vote or we can say the motion was negatived by the voice vote. Before it, the Lok Sabha had earlier seen 4 of the 28 no-confidence motions so far to be negatived by voice vote, like no-confidence motions against Indira Gandhi in 1974 and 1975. PM Morarji Desai faced a no-confidence motion in May 1978 that he won by voice vote. In December 1987, C Madhav Reddy tabled a no-confidence motion against then PM Rajiv Gandhi which was also negatived by the voice vote.
